How We Helped a Legacy Ice Cream Franchise Scale Without Losing Its Soul
The Problem
Cream had the momentum. They just needed the brand identity to match it. What began as two brothers selling their mother’s scratch-made ice cream sandwiches from a Berkeley storefront had grown into a franchise brand with a loyal customer base that proved the concept worked.
But scaling a beloved local brand into a national franchise system was a different challenge entirely. As Cream expanded into new markets, their existing brand and website couldn’t keep pace. It was built for where they started—and they needed our help to get them where they were headed.
The Solution
We rebuilt Cream’s brand and digital experience from the ground up, starting with a clear strategic mandate: make it look as good as the product tastes. A vibrant palette of raspberry, periwinkle and lemon, friendly sans-serif typography and beautifully lit product photography came together to do exactly that, making visitors’ mouths water before they even got to the menu.
The new site was designed to convert craving into action with intuitive navigation, clear pathways to menu items and store locations, and copy that made choosing a Cream creation feel effortless.
The Results
We developed a cohesive brand system designed to grow with the franchise, a website experience centered on appetite appeal and ease of use, and a flexible visual identity built to travel seamlessly across markets while maintaining a consistent, recognizable brand.
