National Account Executive

Position Purpose/Summary

The role of the national account executive is to work as the point of contact between Curious Jane and its national franchise clients, strengthening relationships, managing projects and working with different departments within the agency. The national account executive develops and maintains favorable relationships with new and existing clients in order to increase revenue and ensure organizational goods or services consistently meet client needs. They provide high-level strategy, customer support for national clients, report on sales activities and create proposals. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work with multiple client accounts at the same time, often juggling various projects and deadlines
  • Manage client relationships and day-to-day communication with clients and internal staff
  • Develop client relationships beyond email through phone calls and in-person meetings
  • Have a strong understanding of multiplatform advertising strategies that include digital, social, web and mass media
  • Organize and run strategy meetings to help clients meet their goals
  • Offer proactive solutions and innovative ideas to clients
  • Drive projects and processes with multiple internal departments
  • Keep meticulous documentation of client requests, project updates, etc.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with clients, Director of Franchise Development and National Marketing and other staff
  • Be a team player, sharing ideas and being open to the ideas of others
  • Provide weekly client updates and summaries via email and/or reports
  • Develop and monitor project timelines
  • Notify leadership team of any potential problems with projects or accounts and strategize solutions
  • Schedule, lead and drive internal agency and external client meetings
  • Place design and copy orders as needed
  • Ensure all creative meets the client’s needs and strategy
  • Track, audit and complete monthly invoicing
  • Provide monthly agreement reports, digital reports, etc. to clients
  • Provide high-level digital strategy and customer support for national clients


  • Bachelor’s in business administration, advertising or marketing or equivalent experience
  • Exceptionally strong customer service skills both in person and on the phone
  • Exceptionally strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Persuasiveness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities while ensuring a high degree of accuracy
  • Knowledge of business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Meticulously organized and astute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills
  • Exceptional marketing strategy experience, especially digital, to be able to explain strategy and execution to clients
  • Experience managing large budgets
  • Experience working in a CRM and project management system
  • Willingness to travel with overnight stays
  • Willingness to work late hours, during weekends, or at home

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years’ experience as an Account Executive working with large clients in a digital agency preferred
  • Two of more years of franchise marketing preferred
